Curriculum
As a teacher or trainer, if you don’t want to bother with building your own curricula from the Skills Library, the Curriculum section in the Library contains three complete 40+ hour educational programs. Designed to improve behavior and teach necessary skills, these research-based programs are perfect for youth or adults in group settings.
Each program contains facilitator guides, student workbooks, and student assessment books. The curriculum is available in PDF format so you can print out as many copies of the materials as you need to teach the program. As with other Insight resources, each instructor must have a current Associate Membership to use this program.
- The Cognitive Skills curriculum is a 40-hour self-contained cognitive restructuring program that improves the attitudes and behaviors of troubled youth and adults. It is specifically designed for those who are regularly behaving in socially-unacceptable or criminal ways.
- The Anger Management program helps learners control emotions such as anger, aggression, and rage. This 40-hour program is divided into two volumes: volume 1 is designed as an initial 12-hour intervention; volume 2 is used if anger-related misbehavior persists.
- The Employability Skills curriculum features 308 learning activities (29 skills, 95 hours) that helps people learn how to acquire a job and become successful employees. The skills taught in this program have been identified by educators and business owners as those that are most important to learn. In addition, these skills have been carefully selected to meet the requirements of federal government standarda.
Nearly all of the lessons in these programs involve small group work, games, contests, and other creative learning activities—ideal for students who learn in non-traditional ways.
